Sieger’s journey for the last three decades has been filled with milestones of different magnitudes. We celebrate each one of them and this gives the entire team a sense of purpose and fulfilment to go ahead in our journey.
Embracing Digitalisation
One such milestone is the digitalisation of our services. Irrespective of the industry, digitalisation is the way forward. It has long seized to be an option – Digitalisation is the only way now to stay competitive. It is a precondition. The pandemic also underscored the importance of being connected digitally.
While it is difficult to put a date on which we actually put our foot forward in this direction, our process of digitisation has been consistent, continuous and rewarding.
Building a Digital Factory (100% Paperless)
We had a set objective for making Sieger a ‘digital factory’, few years back with the aim to exponentially increase overall plant efficiency, have a paperless process, handle material flow with just e-drawings, among others. I am happy to share that we have effectively digitalised our process now.
Component cycle-time based planning for accurate delivery schedules and KAIZEN at process level to monitor and improve efficiency has helped us in the process.
Digitalisation is prevalent in every operation that we do – including employee log in. E-drawings is a major part of our first stage of operations. Sieger is a 100% paperless factory with E-drawing concept. The E-drawing of every component is circulated digitally along the process route. We have more than 1000 components for each machine moving across multiple routes within our shop floor. Our DFS tracks the route and collates the e-drawing with the component.
In our factory, reports on production, performance, downtime analysis, defect, QAD and Log are maintained digitally.
Unlocking New Potential
We have hugely benefited from the efforts to make our factory ‘digital’. We are now able to explore newer ways of doing business using digital platforms, create new revenue streams and new customer segments. We are also able to offer new personalised value propositions, establish new relationships with prospects and clients, redefine business activities, partnerships and resources, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Sieger has scored big on client experience, data analytics, automation, collaboration and communication. In this journey, we are careful to take everyone along and educate them about our digital processes to make them an integral part of the journey.
